Family portraits, I believe, are the best when families are comfortable enough to be wacky. Which is why I gave up giving any direction to my family years ago, when I realized their best portraits are the zany things they do in front of my camera to try to “mess up” my shots. In celebration of Father’s Day, a look back at Ursuline Academy‘s first Alumnae Father Daughter Dinner Dance, an event my father’s three daughters historically each attended every year of high school at UA. The best times were the ones my dad had his twins on his arms at this event; we turned the experience into the campiest of things, pretending to be overtly hoity toity, or double agents as his Bond girls. In 2016 Ursuline had it’s first alumnae Father Daughter event at The Caramel Room at Bissinger’s. (It’s actually a chocolate factory. Yes, Willy Wonka jokes were made.) This event was the first of any Father Daughters that all three sisters got to attend with him! My family is so wacky, and it’s my favorite thing about them. Enjoy our good times, including antics, dinner, a slo-mo video booth (hiLARious!), and enjoying(?) some signature UA cafeteria-treat-flavored desserts. (Which we disliked so much we decided to go Ted Drewes for ice cream afterwards, a St. Louis tradition!)
