A spoonful of sugar helps the birthday cake go down. This Mary Poppins themed 1st and 4th birthday for my nephew and niece was a capital time! How stinkin’ cute are their Jolly Holiday outfits hand made by mom? When mom is supercreative and you’re a four year old obsessed with Mary Poppins, you get a carousel ride, kite-topped birthday cake and Mary Poppins’ dress to wear on your birthday. Let’s go fly a kite! And we did, after cake and presents with rainbow kite party favors. Over a cup of “raspberry ice” guests found labels to measure themselves up on Mary Poppins’ measuring tape: Olivia “plays games, all sorts”, mommy “loves to laugh long and loud and clear”, daddy “smells of barley water’, and James… well we were afraid he’d eat his label, but I’d measure him up at “rather inclined to giggle”. Melissa (my sister, owner at Paper Truly) also made her umbrella dress, which may only be out-cuted by that sweet coiffure I did up in her hair. What is that word that sums it up when you don’t know what else to say? Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! Say it loud enough.
