Florida Beach Portraits | Indian Shores Florida

Photographing a multi-couple family intent on making each shine in their own unique way — with the limiting clock of sunset — is certainly a challenge. The key to success here is quick thinking, but honestly much of the ease and awesomeness in working with this particular group came from their individual fun personalities. They just made their own Awesome. When I photograph groups like this I strive to capture their collective energy as well as give each their own mini shoot per se, looking for emotion, exploration and fun, rather than posing and tweaking bodies to land right. I also prioritize capturing kids’ exploration of new landscapes; it is, in my opinion, the only way to photograph children. By the time we got to that, we almost had moonlight, which was gorgeous, and I love the kids’ musings about the sun going away and the “banana moon” coming out. They all had such a great time, as you can see!
